FÊTE DE LOUISIANE!:
Laissez les bons temps roulez! Let the good times roll and celebrate Louisiana-style with Fête de Louisiane! , a high-powered evening combining performances by Cajun upstarts Feufollet and Creole fiddle and accordion wunderkind Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole. These two young bands have been setting the pace in the Cajun/Zydeco home turf of Lafayette, Louisiana and the world is starting to catch on.
Cedric Watson, a fiddler, vocalist, accordionist and songwriter of seemingly unlimited potential, received a Grammy nomination in 2008 for his 1st solo release. His band, Bijou Creole, provides a funky zydeco setting, more rootsy than most, providing a strong groove for your dancing or listening pleasure.
Once idolized at an early age for their precocious musicianship and sent all over the world as youthful emblems of Cajun Louisiana’s cultural resurgence, the members of Feufollet have, in the meantime, grown into the music as young adults, pushing the envelope and leading the way once again as Cajun music extends itself into a new century.
